ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

ETP Sports Academy serves as a platform to provide innovative sport programs to youth. We focus on motivating kids to THINK the game, and create environments that allow them to step up to challenges and “embrace the process”.

WHY “EMBRACE THE PROCESS”?

Development can be tough…at times, messy. It will seldom be pretty, and will often go hand-and-hand with self-doubt and hesitation. Nevertheless, development is a journey that we need to undergo to improve ourselves and grow. Accepting that journey is the first step to a better situation, better mindset, better attitude, and overall better life. EMBRACING the PROCESS means that you acknowledge things may not be easy, but that you’re going to work hard everyday to expand, develop, create, cultivate, and endure because it ultimately means a better YOU.

OLIVER LEVY

As a seasoned basketball coach with 17 years of experience, I have honed my expertise in nurturing young talent and guiding players through the fundamental, intermediate, and advanced levels of the sport.

My passion for basketball and youth development has allowed me to shape the skills and character of numerous aspiring young athletes over the years. Alongside my coaching journey, I have also served as a parenting coach for over 9 years, helping parents adopt positive and effective strategies in raising their children. Having learned from my own experiences, I have transitioned from being a yeller to a more empathetic and constructive mentor in both the world of sports and parenting.

CHRIS LEUNG

Chris has had a basketball in his hands since he was 5 years old. While still an active player, he has coached youth house leagues and summer camps in the GTA over the course of the last 10+ years.

The aspect of athlete development that Chris is the most passionate about is mindset coaching. He believes that high IQ and EQ are fundamental in developing wholistic athletes. As a player, he takes pride in his mental fortitude and deep analytical understanding of the game, and as a coach, he hopes to challenge young athletes to see the big picture and understand the “why” behind what we do at ETP. His main goal is to provide tangible, modern value to the next generation in an ever-evolving sport that has been the main part of his life for 20+ years.

In addition to coaching, he has several years of experience working in Athletics and Recreation as a supervisor, and a program, tournament, and league director. He has also led and developed training programs and sessions throughout the COVID-19 pandemic for athletes of varying age and sport backgrounds who wished to excel during the time without organized sports.

DAVE MONACO

Dave is a motivated basketball professional with over ten years of coaching and training experience. He is a recent graduate from Humber College’s Sport Business Management program where he graduated with honours. Currently, he is working as a video scout for professional basketball teams overseas where he have developed an advanced understanding for the game. He hopes to pass down that knowledge through the Degree of Difference program.

Dave lives by the quote ‘Aspire to Inspire’ and hopes to do that through his work at ETP. His ultimate goal is to inspire the next generation to become the best versions of themselves using sport as a medium.
